Red Rock Canyon

We went to Red Rock Canyon this last weekend and had a great adventure. Darrick hadn't seen rain in Las Vegas since we moved here, and wouldn't you know it... seconds after we exited the car to begin hiking it poured on us and was chilly thereafter. We found some overhanging rocks to duck under a couple of the heavier pours. You can't see from the picture, but we found a bush literally covered in crawling ladybugs (may have been a reaction from the rain burst). The girls continued their walk with ladybugs happily crawling on their hands like "gloves." Even the babies loved poking at them, I personally stayed away from them... did you know ladybugs can actually bite? I learned that first hand in my youth when I was covered in a flock of them.

An update on Kaleigh, it seems she will be with us for at least a couple months or so, but you never know for sure. She is a very bright little girl, she loves her food (can't emphasize that enough) and certainly has a little attitude somewhere under those big eyes and unruly laugh. By the way, the dark-haired man is Darrick's friend from Newdale, ID that was in visiting, Tony Ricks, he was a big help on the hike. It's great having unexpected visitors that we normally never get to see. I hope we get to stay bunched up and close to our loved ones in heaven, we are so spread right now.

Too bad about the rain. You got some cute shots of the kids though.

What a pretty hike, that is too bad about the rain though. Its been rainy and gloomy up here for almost a week and I am ready for the sun to come out again.
Your girls all looked so cute on halloween, looks like it was a really fun night!

We would love to see you guys for New Years is the tickets are reasonable. We'll keep an eye out too. The Fondu party sounds like fun. I know, the pictures are terrible. Our camera broke before we moved and we really need to get another one because our video camera doesn't take very clear pictures. I'll try to put some new ones on anyway. Shad is definatley bigger. He's already trying to crawl around. He's a big boy--they're sharing diapers and some clothes too. Keep us updated on any good ticket prices. Wish we could see you at Thanksgiving!

I love the picture with the top of all the girls heads, lots of white blond and then black right in the middle of it!! It must be fun to have her, and her different coloring. You guys look like you're doing well! Miss you!

Yeah! A new blog!! So exciting - I feel like we can be friends again! Because I can finally keep up with you! Yeah! I love the picture of you and Darrick with your hair in braids and hairbows. That is so funny! You two haven't changed at all! You still look like you could be freshmen at Ricks. Really. Your girls are beautiful, unsurprisingly. And good for you and your new foster baby. She needs someone sweet amd patient like you to love on her. You know Lisa has a blog too...fancy cheese or something. I have a link on my blog. Take care! Yeah! The Neibaur Family blog!
